Escondido dentist, Dr. Kerbs and our team have recently completed some revolutionary training and are now fully certified in the Pinhole Surgical Technique.

Pinhole Gum Grafting Escondido

Pinhole gum rejuvenation is a scalpel-free, suture-free, and graft-free procedure for correcting gum recession and saving your teeth! The procedure can also help in the prevention of tooth loss and the need for other future procedures such as implants or dentures.

Through a tiny entry point, a specially designed instrument is used to gently reposition your gums to correct gum recession. Since the Pinhole Surgical Technique is a less invasive procedure, you can expect minimal post-operative symptoms. In many cases, treatment can be completed in as little as 1-2 hours. Most people who have had this procedure report that they are pleasantly surprised by the instant cosmetic improvement as well as their ability to resume light activities within 24-48 hours of receiving treatment.

Gum rejuvenation can enhance a more youthful appearance and you may even find that you feel happier due to finally being able to smile without worrying about your receded gums.

If you have gum recession and wish it could go away, please call 760-746-3663 with your questions and one of our knowledgable team members will assist you in moving towards better health. Pinhole gum rejuvenation may be the answer for better health and a more beautiful smile!

In considering dental treatment, which may include removal and replacement of “silver” mercury amalgam fillings in your mouth, several points have been discussed.

The following are well established facts in scientific literature:

  1. There is no level of mercury exposure that can be regarded as safe or harmless.
  2. When originally placed “silver” amalgam fillings contain approximately 50% mercury.
  3. Mercury is not “locked in” fillings and does escape in small amounts, mostly in the form of volatilized mercury vapor.
  4. Exposure to mercury increases with chewing, tooth brushing and heat.
  5. Mercury vapor is extremely toxic and easily absorbed. It’s toxicity is rated greater than lead, cadmium or arsenic.
  6. Leading toxicologists have concluded that mercury from amalgam fillings constitutes the single greatest source of exposure to humans and is greater than food, air or environmental sources.
  7. Animal studies have shown amalgam derived mercury accumulates in the body tissues and organs, it also travels through fetal blood supply to fetal tissues and is found in maternal milk.

Escondido holistic dentist, Dr. Jeffry Kerbs, has not placed a mercury filling in his practice for over 30 years and practices the safe removal of mercury fillings as laid out by the IAOMT.

If you have any questions regarding safe mercury amalgam filling removal please call our Escondido Dental Office today at 760-746-3663 or visit our website at http://www.drjkerbs.com.

Escondido AACD Accredited Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Jeffry Kerbs, Focuses on Full Mouth Health and Restoration

Escondido AACD Accredited Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Jeffry Kerbs, Focuses on Full Mouth Health and Restoration

Dr Kerbs is highly trained in both natural cosmetic dentistry as well as function (the way the teeth preform while chewing and biting). Dr. Kerbs is able to restore a full mouth to its natural beauty while re-establishing a correct bite, so that the mouth, teeth and TMJ remain healthy. When analyzing a patient’s smile it is so important to look at all aspects of the patient’s face, lips, teeth, gums, jaw and restore a mouth conservatively to achieve a natural and healthy look. Conservative dentistry means preserving as much of the natural tooth structure as possible so that the teeth stay strong and healthy longer.
When choosing a cosmetic dentist it is important to look at the dentist’s education after dental school and how much training that dentist has had in cosmetic dentistry. The AACD, The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, has established an accreditation process that when completed and passed sets cosmetic dentists apart from the rest.

More than 80% of our patients show evidence of grinding and clenching their teeth. What we find is that most of our patients are unaware that they have this habit and are not able to see the evidence until it’s too late and treatment is needed to repair the damage.

  • Tooth grinding and clenching can be very damaging to your individual teeth, creating a sawed-off look to the teeth, aged look to the teeth, and it can also crack the teeth resulting in a loss of a tooth.
  • It can damage your joints and muscles, causing TMJ/TMD problems.
  • Your bite can be altered which can cause traumatic occlusion, creating bone loss and pain, and eventually the proportions of your face can change, creating an old and collapsed look to the lower part of your face.

If left untreated, major reconstruction of the teeth and bite may be needed. If caught early, a simple night guard could be the solution to prevent major problems in the future.

**This patient had worn down her two front teeth, Dr. Kerbs restored her smile to its natural beauty with whitening and all porcelain veneers on her two front teeth. A nightgaurd was formed to prevent further damage and wear in the future.**

We are committed to your health and well-being. It is our goal to prevent damage to your teeth before it happens and to prevent major restorative bills in your future.

If you have any questions about this or know someone who may find value in this information, please pass it on!

Dr. Kerbs has been practicing cosmetic dentistry in Escondido for over 20 years and along the way he has been trained by and been accredited with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, LVI, and The Kois Center.

At Dr. Kerbs Escondido practice, he specializes in restoring smiles to a natural beauty and finction. Cosmetic Dentistry is an art and a science and Dr. Kerbs, with his perfectionist eye, treats every one of his patients with the same amount of care.

We have had numerous mothers call us in an absolute panic because their child has broken a front tooth…. kids will be kids and with having fun, sometimes comes an accident resulting in a broken smile.

Being upset warranted… YES!… because it is horrifying watching a child go through something like this. Panic warranted… NO!… Because there is a solution! Broken front teeth walk into our office all of the time… but they leave looking brand new again!

This very young patient had a badly broken tooth.

Given her age, a crown is not the best treatment (a crown on a front tooth on a child would not look natural for long due to growth, it also would take down more of the natural tooth structure, weakening the tooth for the future). Instead, Dr. Kerbs used composite bonding materials (tooth colored filling materials) to sculpt back the missing portion of her tooth. With this technique all of the natural tooth structure is kept and material is added to restore the tooth.

The coolest part of all of this is that Dr. Kerbs is able to do this and make it INVISIBLE! Both mom and daughter could not tell where the original break was…. back to NEW!

We are so happy when we are able to do this… We have so many adult patients that come to us with sob stories about how, when they were little, they had a crown put on their front tooth and have had to live with an ugly tooth that doesn’t match the rest of their smile. AND because of this they don’t smile… or they cover their mouths when they talk… and for years! Of course, we can invisibly replace a crown for them, but there is absolutely no reason to live any part of your life in shame of your smile.

Both children and adults are sometimes in need of a cosmetic dentist, Dr. Kerbs is a cosmetic dentist who has the ability to rewind time, make new again, repair, and restore any smile. And, he does this in a way that is healthy, natural, and beautiful.

If any of this rings true for you or a loved one… or if you have any questions at all about Dr. Kerbs or cosmetic dentistry, please call us 760-746-3663 or write us at drkerbsoffice@sbcglobal.net

Many times our patients come to us with a desire to fix areas of their smile that have been previously damaged.

This patient expressed the wish to fix the white and yellow spotting on his teeth as well as the rough edges on his teeth. He wanted an even looking natural smile.

Dr. Kerbs corrected the damaged smile by doing chair-side veneers – a procedure that restores the smile in one visit without the need for anesthetic or removal of natural tooth structure. Dr. Kerbs has advanced training in the art of sculpting a smile with composite bonding materials (chair-side veneers).

Chair-Side Veneers have the ability to transform a smile and with Dr. Kerbs advanced techniques, make damaged teeth disappear and a natural beautiful smile appear. This technique can be done in one visit… so our patient walked in with one smile and out with another. We love seeing this type transformation and Dr. Kerbs loves providing these results.

We provide complimentary consultations to discuss treatment plan options and answer any questions that you may have. Many times, there is a simple fix to what may be bothering you about your smile, and if it is more involved, then Dr. Kerbs is the perfect person to determine what can be done to perfect your smile.
